Hard Recycle agreement with Silmisa Maquinaria
Hard Recycle Announces Exclusive AU/NZ Representation of Silmisa Maquinaria

Hard Recycle is proud to sign an exclusive representative agreement with Silmisa Maquinaria for Australia and New Zealand. Silmisa, a Spanish machinery group with over 35 years of experience, specialises in an extensive suite of industrial recycling equipment. This partnership significantly enhances Hard Recycle’s portfolio—already anchored by ITR, OMAR, Tecnofer, Wagner, ARP, AZO, Zemmler and others—by adding advanced pre-shredders, granulators and a dedicated line of wood chippers for processing wood, shrubbery and organics into sawdust and mulch. Together, we will deliver turnkey recycling solutions tailored to the unique demands of ANZ industries.
About Silmisa Maquinaria
Since its founding more than three decades ago, Silmisa Maquinaria has built a reputation for reliability, innovation and environmental stewardship in industrial recycling machinery. Headquartered in Onil, Spain, Silmisa designs, engineers and manufactures a broad spectrum of equipment—from rugged pre-shredders and high-capacity industrial shredders to precision granulators (mills) and purpose-built wood chippers. Their end-to-end product range also encompasses peripherals such as trommel screens, centrifuges, conveyor belts and complete recycling lines, enabling fully integrated, site-optimised solutions.
Why Silmisa?
Silmisa’s ethos aligns perfectly with Hard Recycle’s commitment to delivering practical, high-performance solutions that meet stringent AU/NZ standards. Key differentiators include:
-
Engineering Depth: Silmisa’s in-house R&D&I team continuously refines machinery designs to maximise throughput, energy efficiency and uptime, ensuring a long service life under demanding conditions.
-
Modularity & Customisation: Whether clients require a standalone pre-shredder, a multi-stage recycling line or bespoke wood-waste handling, Silmisa’s modular approach allows precise configuration to suit material types, throughput targets and site constraints.
-
Environmental Focus: All equipment is developed with sustainability front of mind—optimised drives reduce power consumption, and robust components minimise wear, cutting both operating costs and ecological footprint.
-
Global Track Record: Active in more than 25 countries, Silmisa brings proven performance and documented reliability to major recycling, forestry, biomass fuel, landscaping and horticulture applications.
Expanded Product Lines
Under this new partnership, Hard Recycle will introduce the following Silmisa equipment to ANZ markets:
-
Industrial Pre-Shredders: Ideal for bulk material reduction at the front end of the recycling process, breaking down bulky plastics, wood pallets, garden waste and other feedstocks into manageable pieces.
-
High-Torque Industrial Shredders: Designed for primary and secondary size reduction of tough or mixed waste streams, including MSW, light metals, e-waste and textiles.
-
Mills & Granulators: Precision cutting mills that transform sawmill offcuts, plastics, rubber and non-ferrous metals into uniform granules for re-entry into manufacturing streams.
-
Wood Chippers: Robust chippers (e.g. Titan model) engineered to convert shrub and timber residues into high-quality chips, sawdust and mulch, supporting biomass fuel production, animal bedding, landscaping and horticultural media.
-
Peripherals & Complete Lines: Trommel screens, cyclones, conveyors and turnkey plant assemblies to streamline material handling, dust management and separation tasks.
Sawmill Waste to Value: Pre-Shredders & Granulators
Silmisa’s pre-shredders boast a modular blade design that tackles high volumes of bulky materials—urban solid waste, plastics, wood and light metals—while their intelligent control systems adapt to feed variations with minimal operator intervention. Downstream, Fenix-series mills deliver precise granule output sizes, optimising material properties for pelletising or direct reuse. Users benefit from:
-
Energy-efficient drives that reduce kWh per tonne processed.
-
Quick-change blades and accessible maintenance points to minimise downtime.
-
Automated monitoring and overload protection to safeguard equipment and operators.
Wood & Organic Residue Processing
The addition of Silmisa’s Titan wood chipper enables Hard Recycle to address growing demand for wood-waste recycling. These chippers:
-
Process sawmill offcuts, forestry residues and green waste into uniform chips.
-
Feature heavy-duty hoppers and feed rollers for continuous operation.
-
Produce mulch and sawdust suitable for biomass boilers, composting, soil amendment and animal bedding.
By integrating chippers with screening and separation equipment, clients can deploy compact lines that convert organic residues into market-ready products with minimal manual sorting.
Synergies and Benefits for ANZ Clients
The Silmisa agreement empowers Hard Recycle to offer truly end-to-end recycling solutions: from front-end size reduction (pre-shredders, chippers) through secondary processing (shredders, granulators) to final screening and separation. Key client advantages include:
-
Single-Source Accountability: One partner for equipment selection, installation, commissioning, spare parts and service, eliminating vendor-coordination complexity.
-
Local Support & Parts Availability: Hard Recycle’s ANZ presence guarantees rapid deployment of field technicians, on-site training and ready access to critical spares.
-
Tailored Configurations: Leveraging Silmisa’s modular platforms and Hard Recycle’s engineering expertise ensures custom lines that integrate seamlessly with existing site infrastructure and meet throughput targets.
-
Regulatory Compliance: All machinery is designed and certified to comply with AS 1657, AS/NZS 3000, dust explosion standards (AS/NZS 4745) and other relevant Australian and New Zealand regulations, ensuring safe, code-compliant operation.
A Message from the Managing Director
“Partnering with Silmisa Maquinaria represents a significant step in our growth trajectory,” says Bogdan Iancu, Managing Director of Hard Recycle. Until now, our core recycling solutions—from ITR Recycling’s single-, twin- and four-shaft shredders to Tecnofer’s washing and pulper-rejects treatment, Zemmler’s multi-fraction screening and OMAR’s industrial air filtration—have enabled clients across plastics, paper, metals, WEEE and battery recycling to maximise material recovery and regulatory compliance. By integrating Silmisa’s heavy-duty pre-shredders for front-end volume reduction, precision granulators for uniform granule and pellet production, and dedicated wood chippers that convert forestry residues, green waste and shrubbery into market-ready sawdust and mulch, we can now offer fully engineered, end-to-end recycling and biomass-processing lines. This expansion lets municipal FOGO programmes, sawmills, biomass-fuel producers, landscaping and horticultural operations engage Hard Recycle as a single-source partner—backed by local engineering support, spare-parts availability and full AU/NZ standards compliance.”
Looking Ahead
This exclusive ANZ representation of Silmisa equips Hard Recycle to address evolving circular-economy challenges across municipal, industrial and commercial sectors. As we roll out demonstration lines and showcase Silmisa machinery at recent and upcoming expos (including ReGEN 2025 and 2026 and Waste Expo 2025), clients can witness first-hand the performance, reliability and flexibility of these systems. Whether you’re converting forestry residues into biomass fuel, producing premium mulch for landscaping or reprocessing plastics and metals into reusable granules, Hard Recycle and Silmisa bring unparalleled technical depth, service excellence and environmental stewardship to every project. Together, we’re turning waste streams into valuable resources—sustainably, efficiently and profitably.
