Technology and Quality

Tecnofer’s advanced drying and densification solutions are engineered to enhance efficiency and performance in plastics recycling operations. The Squeezer employs a mechanical screw press system to effectively reduce moisture content in plastic films and flakes. By compressing material within perforated cylinders and applying controlled hydraulic pressure, it achieves moisture reduction to levels suitable for extrusion, with energy savings up to 70% compared to traditional thermal drying methods. For applications requiring higher dryness levels, Tecnofer’s Plastic Presses and Pulp Presses are designed to handle various materials, including pulper rejects from the paper industry. These screw press systems can process input consistencies of 8-10% solids, delivering output consistencies ranging from 45% to 90%, depending on the material. The adjustable backpressure and temperature controls allow for optimal performance, significantly reducing disposal costs and enhancing material recovery.

The Fluidised Bed Dryer offers precise drying by suspending plastic flakes in a stream of hot air within stainless steel cyclones. This method ensures uniform heat distribution and efficient moisture evaporation, achieving residual moisture levels acceptable for extrusion processes. Real-time temperature control and low maintenance requirements make it suitable for both rigid and flexible plastic flakes. For intensive cleaning and decontamination, the Hot Treatment Unit (HTU) processes hard plastic flakes such as PET, HDPE, PP, ABS, and PVC. By adjusting processing parameters—temperature, residence time, and detergents—the HTU effectively removes contaminants like glue, oil, and fats. The system’s advanced electronic controls and flexibility allow for integration into existing plants, ensuring high cleaning efficiency with minimal water and energy consumption.
