Pre-Shredders

The TAURUS and CENTAURO machines by Silmisa Maquinaria are high-performance pre-shredders designed for the initial reduction of bulky and heavy waste. Built for tough recycling environments, they break down large materials such as plastics, wood, metals, and industrial waste, preparing them for further processing.

The TAURUS 220 features dual 132 kW drives, a 2,200 mm rotor, and 26 large knives (120×120 mm), offering a cutting volume of 6.8 m³. The TAURUS 280 upsizes to 150 kW drives, a 2,800 mm rotor, and 34 knives, with a larger 8.5 m³ cutting zone and greater throughput. Both models use 800 mm rotors and are suited for high-volume coarse shredding.

The CENTAURO 280 shares the same rotor size and hopper volume as the TAURUS 280 but uses smaller knives (60–80 mm) in much higher numbers—between 75 and 115—allowing for finer pre-shredding and better output consistency. Powered by 2×132 kW motors, it is ideal for applications requiring more precise material preparation.

All models feature modular construction, wear-resistant components, and configurable screens to control output size, making them reliable, efficient, and easy to integrate into automated recycling lines.

The MLS Makina MLS-BA-3000 is a heavy-duty hydraulic twin-shaft pre-shredder—driven 2 × 200 kW with Ø850 mm rotors carrying 48 × 100 mm cutters—that opens and shears bulky, inconsistent feed into a uniform, conveyable fraction while limiting fines and absorbing shocks to protect downstream equipment.
